Ostgals
Ostgals is a peculiar romantic area with quiet cobblestone streets and charming wooden buildings from the 19th c., which were constructed in order to protect the city from being covered with sand from the dunes.
Ostgals has been acknowledged as an urban planning monument of national significance.
Town Hall Square
The charming Town Hall Square has become a favourite spot to take walks on for both locals and visitors of the city. It is enclosed by St. Nicholas Evangelical Lutheran Church, International Writers’ and Translators’ House, Ventspils Main Library and the Children’s Library, as well as the Digital Centre.
